Nauvoo

Katie's parents were generous enough to bring us along on their trip to Nauvoo. It was so much fun. We flew into Kansas City, Missouri and saw the sites in Missouri (Independence, Liberty, Far West, and Adam Ondi Aman). Then we drove to Nauvoo and spent a few days there. My favorite part by far was the temple. It is so beautiful, both inside and out. Its such a great tribute to the early saints who built the first one. It was fun seeing all the other historic sites as well.

We also got to see plenty of musical theater, which Grace loved. She would just sit and stare at the stage, amazed, while the actors sang and danced. I've never seen her sit still for so long. It was a great trip and a great testimony builder. We took a ton of cool pictures, so I put them together in a little montage. I hope you enjoy it.

Great pictures Ian! Had you been there before? Haley and I did a similar trip two summers ago. We started in Palmyra, then hit Kirtland, Independence & Nauvoo. It was as cool as I thought it would be and like you said, it's a great testament to the early saints.

What a great video Ian. You captured the trip and the spirit of Nauvoo.
It was a big testimony builder. Thanks for putting your "digital scrapbooking tool" to good use!

Don't lie Spencer. You aren't planning on doing a church history trip.

iDavis that is cool. I hope you enjoyed all the musical productions. That is what my Grandma is doing for her mission. You just missed her. She works with all of the Young Performing Missionaries in Nauvoo every year with their shows. I am hoping to drive her out there next year so that I can see everything.

It was my first church history trip (I don't count our trips to Brigham Young's homes in St. George when we were kids), and it was really cool. I would like to do the Eastern sites as well one day.

TJ, that's cool that your grandma is back there. The only musical theater performance that I actually enjoyed was "Sunset on the Mississippi," which is the show where all the senior couple missionaries get on stage and perform. It was pretty entertaining.

I really liked seeing all of the pictures--my grandparents served in the Nauvoo Temple last year, and I wish we could have visited them then. We have been to Palmyra and Kirtland, but I would really like to go to Nauvoo someday. I hope it wasn't too hot! I think my favorite was Gracie in the bonnet. I'm glad you were able to have such a great family trip.
