More and more of my friends and family are joining the blogosphere (Chantalle being the most recent, but hopefully not the last), and I think it is awesome. It is such a great way to share pictures, to keep up to date with people's lives, to keep up on our writing skills, and to engage in witty banter among friends.
I would like to recomment Google Analytics to all of my fellow bloggers. It is a cool program that tracks the visits to your blog. The coolest feature (at least for me) is that it has a big map of the world, and it shows where the people visiting your blog are visiting from. Just this week, I got a hit from the Philipines, which was a first. I have had hits from Spain, England, Sweden, Argentina, and Mexico, along with many others from across the United States. Its amazing how easy it is to connect with people all over the world.
Google Analytics also tracks how many visits you have had in the past week (I get about 75 per week, many of which are probably my own hits). And it will tell you what search terms people have used to find your site (my post about midevil names has garnered the most search engine attention by far, with many people searching for midevil name ideas (I'm glad we offered up some good ones)).
Its really easy to install, and I think its a fun little thing to keep track of. Enjoy.

Ian recommended Google Analytics to me about a month ago and I have loved it. The content that has brought the most traffic to my blog has been The History of the Sith part 2. It really is fun to track the traffic on your blog.
Spencer, I have no doubt you get lots of hits from fellow Star Wars fans. Is their a word for them like "trekies" for Star Trek?

Chris, I am glad that you have also made the pilgrimage back to the land of our fathers, and I'm sorry that you were persecuted for it. I guess that comes with the territory.
Ian got me into google analytics as well, and i like it a lot. I like looking at the map to see where in the world people are accessing my blog. I've had hits from Greece, Africa, South America, Japan, and Canada. All exotic places! I'm glad Analytics is so good at what it does, and is free.

I'm not sure if there is a word like Trekkies or Trekkers that defines Star Wars fans, but many adjectives do come to mind. I'm sure many people associate Star Wars fans with words like: sophisticated, attractive, well groomed, etc.
ok...ian, i am so lame. i cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to get this onto my site. i have tried several times...even enlisting the help of my oldest son. pls help out poor pitiful me ;) where the freakin' heck to i paste the code!

carol, I'm glad you liked my comment. I got curious and looked up "exotic" and it means "not native; of foreign character or origin." I've been to Alberta and lived in Toronto for 2 years, and wish we'd get more "exotic" exports from Canada like: Wunderbars, all-dressed chips, poutine, nanaimo bars, and five alive juice!!
But we've had enough cold down here...I wish Canada wouldn't share these arctic winds. It was negative 26 during the DAY on Monday here in Wisconsin!

Ok, Chantalle, I have to do this from memory, but I'll try to help. I assume you signed up for google analytics correcly because you said you had the html code that they provided. I also assume you know how to edit your html code template because you have added links to other blogs on your blog. So I assume your problem is finding where, within the jumble of html code, you need to paste the google analytics code. If I remember correctly, you need to find the end of the body of your blog, which is indicated by the html code "body" (with < and > marks instead of quotation marks; the computer won't let me use the correct marks because it recognizes it as code and can't process it). I looked it up on my blog, and it is about 2/3 of the way down the page. You should paste the google analytics code in between the "/head" code (again, I'm using quotation marks instead of the correct < and > marks)) and the "body" code (the word "body" surrounded by < and >). I hope that helps!
How come the rumbler's comment was deleted? It was penned at 3:20 PM and is unreplacable, those comments cannot be conjured or repeated, but were not offensive or crude and only added insight and readership. Are there rules the rumbler is not made aware? Please advise. Apology not yet accepted.
No comments made by the Rumbler were deleted by Musingian. Musingian adheres to a strict freedom of speech/no censorship policy. The only comments deleted are those posted by spammers and sometimes comments that disclose lasts names (these are deleted to protect the identity of the innocent). In this instance, the comment deleted was Katie's because she absentmindedly used some last names. Musingian invites Rumbler to re-post his surely brilliant post and is saddened by its apparent loss.
